Summer.
*sigh*
A teacher's dream and a mom's biggest challenge.
I blogged here about plans for this summer and I felt the need to update since it is officially day 3. Monday was a teacher work day so summer began for mi familia on Tuesday. I'm sad to report that my day 1 was even lazier than I jokingly planned. Even sadder is that I was just going to make hot dogs for lunch but my children insisted on ABCs and 123s.
I did make up for it yesterday however. Being as I told myself in the 2 weeks prior to the school year's end that I could just put off laundry til summer I caught up yesterday. I
With that said, Wednesday (day 2) was spent on laundry and (finally) putting away winter clothes. Oh, and I gave the bedrooms a nice clean and toy dumping.
Day 3 started at 6:45 with a blonde-haired, blue-eyed 18-month-old calling "Mama" from his crib. No, it never works to put him in the bed with us because he just plays and practices ALL the words he knows. Not to be put out by an early morning, this mama went for a walk/jog. Unfortunately it's been about 3 weeks since I have even worn my tennis shoes that I did more walking than jogging.
Why, hello there, cup of joe. Don't disappoint.
